Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto participated in an interfaith prayer gathering on Wednesday (20/11/2024) in Semarang, Central Java.

The event, organized ahead of the 2024 Regional Elections, aimed to foster unity and ensure peaceful, secure elections, according to antaranews.com.

The ceremony included a keynote speech on national harmony and was attended by Central Java’s regional leadership (Forkopimda), the heads of key religious organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), as well as senior police and military officials.

Speaking at the event, Chief Sigit urged the public to prioritize unity during the election period.

“Do not be provoked by narratives or actions that could divide our society,” he said, expecting a smooth, orderly, and beneficial election process that  respects diverse political choices.

The event was part of a broader “cooling system” initiative designed to prevent conflict and maintain social harmony. It reinforces efforts to ensure leaders elected in 2024 Regional Head Elections remain focused on advancing public welfare and national unity.
