Inp.polri.go.id - Kulonprogo. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated a newly constructed road and irrigation system in Garongan Village,, Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta on Saturday (15/2/2025).

Speaking at the event, he emphasized the vital role of infrastructure in supporting agricultural productivity and local economic growth.

“We inaugurated a road leading to farmland and an irrigation system. Hopefully, this infrastructure will help farmers, especially in Garongan, become more productive,” Chief Sigit said.

The improved irrigation and road access are expected to increase rice yields, potentially turning Garongan into a key rice-producing area. 

“With better irrigation and roads, we aim for a surplus in rice production, strengthening local economic development,” he added.

Social aid was also distributed as part of efforts to enhance farmers' welfare and support national food security. The event was attended by local officials, police representatives, and residents.
