Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Indonesian National (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo advised travelers heading back after Eid Al-Fitr to temporarily exit toll roads and use arterial roads to rest if rest areas are overcrowded.
“You can exit briefly to the arterial road for rest if toll rest areas are full,” he said on Saturday (5/4/2025).
Chief Sigit emphasized that toll road operators have been instructed to ensure that travelers who exit and re-enter for rest are charged the same fare.
“The important thing is not to stop on the shoulder, because it’s dangerous,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The police have made extensive preparations to ease return traffic, with the peak expected between 5 and 6 April 2025.
“This year’s return traffic is quite extraordinary,” Chief Sigit noted, adding that the police continue to monitor on-the-ground conditions and will implement adaptive traffic management.
