Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) continued efforts to locate the family or guardian of a child abuse victim found in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, in June.
The girl, believed to be seven-year-old MK, was discovered sleeping on a cardboard box at a market and claimed to have been abused by his parents in Surabaya, East Java.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the INP Public Relations Division of Head of the Public Information Bureau, said Wednesday (13/8/2025) that investigations involve tracing identity records, gathering information from the public, and monitoring the victim’s social networks.
“The goal is to identify and prosecute those responsible under the Child Protection Law and the Sexual Violence Crimes Law,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Police are providing psychological support to help the boy feel secure before further questioning.
In coordination with the local police Women and Children Protection Unit and Social Services, authorities are ensuring comprehensive protection covering health, psychosocial recovery, education, and safety, prioritizing the best interests of the child.
