Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency’s Directorate of Certain Crimes is intensifying supervision over subsidized goods—fuel, LPG, and fertilizer—to prevent misuse.
“We’ve issued a confidential telegram ordering all units, from regional police to local precincts, to monitor distribution,” Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, the Director of Certain Crimes, said on Monday (3/3/2025).
Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, fuel hoarding remains a concern. Chief Nunung urged the public to report irregularities, according to antaranews.com.
The INP recently uncovered a subsidized fuel fraud case in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. Investigators found B35 diesel fuel diverted from state-owned energy company PT Pertamina’s terminal to illegal storage, then resold at industrial rates.
Four suspects—a warehouse operator, a gas station owner, a PT Pertamina employee, and a truck owner—are under investigation.
Perpetrators manipulated GPS tracking on transport trucks to conceal the scheme. They are facing chargesed under UU No. 6/2023 and UU No. 22/2001 on Oil and Gas.
