Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State-owned energy company PT Pertamina (Persero) CEO Simon Aloysius Mantiri issued a formal apology on Monday (3/3/2025) for public concerns over alleged corruption in crude oil and refinery product management.

"I sincerely apologize to the Indonesian people for the recent events," he said at Grha Pertamina bulding, as quoted by antaranews.com.

As part of governance improvements, PT Pertamina formed a Crisis Center Team to evaluate its business processes.  In addition,  Simon shared a telephone number (081417081945) to receive public reports on fuel quality issues. 

He added that an independent third party will verify Pertamina’s fuel quality to boost public confidence. 

The Attorney General’s Office is investigating a Rp193.7 trillion loss from 2018–2023 due to RON 92 procurement irregularities.  It revealed that the case involved the practice of blending RON 90 and RON 92 fuel.
