Inp.polri.go.id - Ponorogo. The Ponorogo Sub-regional Police revealed that Dewi Astutik (43), a fugitive wanted by Interpol in connection with an international drug trafficking case, allegedly used a false identity—belonging to her younger sister—on her official documents.
"She is indeed from Ponorogo, but the identity she used belongs to her sister," said Ponorogo Police Chief Superintendent Andin Wisnu Sudibyo on Wednesday (28/5/2025), as quoted by antara news.com.
Dewi is registered as a resident of Sumber Agung Hamlet, Balong Village, Ponorogo, East Java. Regional Police believe she has been living abroad as a migrant worker since 2011 and is currently in Cambodia.
She is the suspected mastermind behind a trafficking network involved in smuggling two tons of methamphetamine and is now the subject of an Interpol red notice. Indonesian authorities are coordinating closely with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
Local residents claim not to know anyone named Dewi Astutik, but several noted that her photo resembles that of a woman known locally as "PA," who had worked overseas for years.
