Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is shifting its focus to long-term athlete development as the national team struggles to clinch titles in the first half of 2025.
No wins have been recorded in BWF World Tour Super 500 events or higher, with the last titles coming from Super 300 tournaments.
“Over the past six months, we’ve kept a low profile because we’ve been preparing our juniors for the next four to eight years. Our focus is on regeneration, coaching systems, and competition structure,” said PBSI Chairman Muhammad Fadil Imran on Tuesday (3/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Promising players like Jafar Hidayatullah, Felisha A.N. Pasaribu, Putri KW, and Ester Nurumi are beginning to emerge from the national training center, signaling the early results of this strategy.
Chairman Fadil remains optimistic, urging the public to be patient as PBSI works to rebuild a strong foundation for Indonesia’s future badminton success.
