inp.polri.go.id - Singkawang. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian National Military (TNI) have declared their readiness to secure the 2026 Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang City on March 3, 2026, by deploying 935 joint personnel.
This readiness was conveyed at a press conference regarding security for the Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang on Friday, as part of Operation Liong Kapuas 2026.
"As part of this security effort, we are implementing Operation Liong Kapuas 2026 to ensure that all Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh events run safely and conducively," said Singkawang Regional Police Vice Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Riko Syafutra.
He stated that security for the Chinese New Year and Cap Go Meh celebrations will begin from February 16 to March 4, 2026.
He stated that 935 joint personnel will be deployed, consisting of members of INP, TNI, and support from relevant agencies. Security is also reinforced by personnel from the West Kalimantan Regional Police and three neighboring police stations: the Sambas Police, the Bengkayang Police, and the Mempawah Police.
On the day of the Cap Go Meh celebration, security will be divided into three rings. Ring 1 focuses on the main area, including securing VIP and VVIP guests and the main stage. Ring 2 covers the spectator area, while Ring 3 focuses on securing the routes and access points in and out of the event.
