Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck North Sulawesi on Tuesday (25/2/2025) at approximately 10.59 pm local time, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
The quake's epicenter was located 28 kilometers northeast of Ondong, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, at a depth of 109 kilometers, with coordinates at 2.80°N and 125.61°E.
BMKG confirmed there is no tsunami potential following the earthquake.
“The information provided prioritizes speed; therefore, the data may be subject to change as more details become available,” BMKG said on its official website, according to antaranews.com.
While the exact cause and potential impacts of the earthquake remain under review, BMKG has urged residents to stay calm and avoid spreading unverified information until a comprehensive analysis is released.
