Metro Jaya Police Investigate 11 Officers After Forced Seminar Disruption

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have questioned 11 officers in connection with the forced disruption and property damage at a seminar held at the Grand Kemang Hotel, South Jakarta, on Saturday. 

Among them is the Chief of Mampang Police Office, Senior Inspector Edy Purwanto.

The Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said on Monday (30/9/2024) that officers from  the Metro Jaya Police and South Jakarta Sub-regional Police, are also under investigation.

The authorities have also questioned two additional witnesses, a security guard and the hotel manager. 

'This process ensures transparency and accountability," Chief Ade Ary said.

The incident involved a group of men forcibly entering the seminar and damaging property. Police have detained five people, with two named as suspects for assault and vandalism under Articles 170 and 406 of the Criminal Code. The other three are being investigated.
