Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police is expanding its integrated psychological services to support the mental well-being of police officers and their families.
The program aims to build stronger self-awareness among personnel so they can better understand their emotional state and overall mental condition, said Superintendent Ida Bagus Gede Adi Putra Yadnya, the Metro Jaya Police Head Head of Psychology at the HR Bureau, on Friday (14/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that involving the Bhayangkari members is essential, as family stability plays a crucial role in maintaining an officer’s mental resilience. Many officers, he added, have felt helped in recognizing their emotions, accepting work pressures, and staying focused without being burdened by past experiences or excessive anxiety.
The program is part of the HR Bureau’s long-term preventive and promotive initiatives. It is expected to foster a new culture within the police force where mental health is valued equally with physical health and where mutual care becomes a shared commitment.
HR Bureau Chief Senior Superintendent Muh. Dita Kumu Wardana highlighted the importance of unit heads and officers acting as informal counselors. Humanistic and empathetic approaches, he said, help detect early signs of psychological strain or behavioral issues.
The integrated psychological services were recently carried out at South Tambun and Pulogadung Police Offices.
