Inp.polri.go.id - Cilacap. The Central Java administration has deployed all available resources to accelerate the search for 20 missing residents after a deadly landslide struck Tarukan and Cibuyut hamlets in Cilacap on Thursday night.
Three victims have been found dead, while dozens remain displaced.
“We express our condolences. Three victims have been found and 20 are still being searched,” Governor Ahmad Luthfi said on Friday (14/11/2025), adding that personnel, equipment, and logistics were immediately mobilized.
The disaster affected 46 residents from 17 households, with search operations continuing non-stop. Heavy machinery from the Citanduy River Basin Agency was deployed to widen access, while the Social Affairs Office prepared shelters, public kitchens, and emergency aid.
As many as 28 families living in high-risk zones will be relocated for safety. Around 200 personnel are operating under challenging terrain and persistent rain as authorities warn of potential secondary landslides.
