Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar officially sent off the first group of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, on Thursday night (1/5/2025).
The group will fly to Saudi Arabia on Friday at approximately 1 am aboard a Garuda Indonesia flight, according to antaranews.com.
In his remarks, Minister Nasaruddin reminded the pilgrims to renew and purify their intentions.
“Among the hundreds of millions of Muslims, only a few are invited by Allah. Alhamdulillah, you are among the chosen,” he said, emphasizing that the pilgrimage should be performed sincerely for Allah, not merely to attain the title of “Haji.”
Minister Nasaruddin added that sincere intention would also strengthen physical endurance—vital amid Saudi Arabia’s extreme heat.
The Saudi Hajj authorities at the airport have declared that they are ready to receive the Indonesian pilgrims, who are expected to arrive in Madinah on Friday.
