Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. A Search and Rescue (SAR) team from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Mobile Brigade (Brimob)’s Alpha Bravo Moskona Task Force is combing a red zone in West Moskona, Teluk Bintuni, West Papua, to find First Inspector Tomi Samuel Marbun, who went missing during a 16 December 2024 operation.

The 14-day mission, starting 20 April 2025), includes ground search, crime scene analysis, and incident reconstruction.

“This is not a routine search. The terrain is hostile, and the threat level remains high,” said Mobile Brigade’s Pioneer Team Commander Brigadier General Gatot Mangkurat Putra, on Wednesday (30/4/2025).

Officer Tomi  reportedly disappeared after being swept away by the Rawara River during a pursuit of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB)  figure Marthen Aikingking, as reported by antaranews.com.

Commander Gatot said the high-alert operation is carried out on foot through jungle and rivers due to the area's security threats and lack of safe river access. Troops follow strict procedures to guard against ambushes from any direction.

West Papua Regional Police spokesman Senior SuperintendentIgnatius Benny Adi Prabowo said the mission demands military-grade discipline despite its humanitarian nature.
