Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Newly appointed Chief of the Water and Air Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) , Inspector General Raden Firdaus Kurniawan, pledged to continue addressing key issues left by his predecessor, including cross-border crimes.
“We will review and evaluate existing challenges before taking strategic actions,” he said following the handover ceremony on Wednesday (9/4/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
One pressing issue is the suspected smuggling through ports in North Sumatra. Chief Firdaus said he would first assess the conditions on the ground before acting.
INP Security Maintenance Agency Chief, Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran, who led the handover ceremony, expected that the new chief would bring operational excellence and fresh innovation to strengthen the corps’ vision and mission.
