Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Presidential Palace has confirmed that no alcoholic beverages were served during the state dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the State Palace.

“All drinks served, including what was consumed by President Prabowo and President Macron, were non-alcoholic. Specifically, they drank sparkling apple cider,” said Presidential Secretariat Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media, Yusuf Permana, on Friday (30/5/2025), as quoted by antara news.com.

He added that the Palace appreciated the public’s concern over the beverages, emphasizing that only non-alcoholic drinks were offered, as reported by antara news.com.

The brownish, fizzy drink seen during the toast had sparked speculation that wine was served. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya clarified separately, “It was 100% juice—sparkling apple cider, not wine, and alcohol-free.”

The cider brand served was Martinelli’s Gold Medal Sparkling Cider, a classic non-alcoholic beverage from the U.S.

The four-course dinner featured Jimbaran seafood, Soto Banjar soup, beef Maranggi satay, and a dessert of coffee and chocolate, accompanied by mineral water, juices, coffee, and tea.
