inp.polri.go.id - Banjarbaru. The South Kalimantan Regional Police Traffic Directorate and their 13 Sub-regional Police ranks have successfully suppressed the number of traffic accidents through 2024 Operation Zebra Intan.
“There is a decrease of six cases from the previous year from 35 to 41 in our 14 days operation to October 27th,” says Traffic Director of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Robertho Pardede on Tuesday (11/12/2024).
The fatality report of the traffic accident is also showing decline from 14 to 11 in 2024.
Furthermore, victims suffering major injuries are also declining from 40 in the previous year to 33 in 2024.
In his statement, Robertho said the decline of traffic accidents shows that the preemptive and preventive approach of his personnel in the field are well received by the general public.
"Socialization and education efforts including traffic patrols have succeeded in raising public awareness for traffic discipline," he explained.
Meanwhile, Head Ops of Traffic Directorate South Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Assistant Superintendent Abdul Rahman, reported an update on ticketing through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) of 164 cases during Operation Zebra this year.
"On the other hand, in our ETLE mobile, there were 96 violators caught. On the other hand, we also did manual ticketing for 1,099 violators and warnings for 3,390 drivers," he concluded.
