inp.polri.go.id - Central Kalimantan. Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate of Central Kalimantan Regional Police arrested a drug courier with the initials of MS (39) and seized 175 grams of methamphetamine in Temanggung Tilung street, PalangkaRaya on Monday (11/11/2024) night. He was arrested while waiting for the drug buyers.

The Head of Central Kalimantan Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Erlan Munaji says that the arrest occurred at 21.30 pm in front of a mobile phone. It was said that MS works as a vegetable trader at the PalangkaRaya Big Market.

From the arrest, he said, investigators secured evidence in the form of eight packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 175 grams, one digital scale, one cellphone, and one motorbike.

"To deceive officers, the perpetrator wrapped the illegal goods in used Beng-Beng brand snack wrappers," explained Erlan on Tuesday (11/12/2024).

According to Erlan, drugs are very dangerous for the community and have a huge negative impact on the economy. In eradicating its flow, there must be a joint effort to cut off the supply of drugs entering the Central Kalimantan region.

"I invite all relevant stakeholders to be able to create more job opportunities so that people in Central Kalimantan can earn a stable income and prevent getting involved with drugs," he said.

Separately, the Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dodo Hendro Kusuma, said that the suspect is still being examined intensively. His party is also still conducting a further investigation into the case.
