Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR)Bambang Soesatyo reminded that the yearly celebration of Pancasila Day should not only be a mere ceremony, but should be a moment to reflect on the role of each individual in maintaining national unity.

"The celebration of Pancasila Day should not only be a mere ceremony. But it must be a momentum to reflect on the role of each individual in maintaining national unity, especially in the digital space which is now a new field of struggle for values," said Bambang Soesatyo, famously called Bamsoet, in a statement quoted from Antaranews, Sunday (6/1/2025).

He said celebrating Pancasila means instilling a spirit of unity in the algorithm of everyday life, despite differences in ethnicity, religion, political choices, or cultural preferences.

"We should always remember that we are united by one nation, one homeland, and one language: Indonesia," he said.

Moreover, he continued, the challenge of maintaining national unity is becoming increasingly complex in the midst of the fast-moving information era through digital media.

To that end, he said the values in the five principles of Pancasila that unite all elements of Indonesian society must be internalized in every interaction in the digital space.
