inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Parents are urged to ensure their children have complete immunizations before homecoming to prevent them from contracting infectious diseases.
Director of Immunization Management of the Health Ministry, Prima Yosephine says that when children are taken to areas where most of the children have not been immunized, they will be susceptible to disease.
"When the child goes out to an area where most of the children have not been immunized, it is very easy for them to contract a disease as they actually do not have the appropriate immunity either," said Director Prima on Friday (3/21/2025).
She has heard that there are some parents who say that their children are fine even without immunization, when in actuality it was because the children in the area are mostly immunized, creating social immunity in the area.
“However, if they move to an area with less immunized children, they will most likely contract a disease. So in principle, immunization is important for self-protection and it is important for them to be immunized,” says Prima..
