Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a joint initiative to support the National Food Security Program, the Bengkayang Sub-regional Police, the West Kalimantan Regional Police and the Air Force base Harry Hadisoemantri Airport in West Kalimantan have advanced their partnership by cultivating 50 hectares of corn.
Deputy West Kalimantan Police Chief BrigadierRoma Hutajulu praised on Saturday (3/5/2025)the strong synergy between the police, air force, local farmers, and private sector, noting “the results so far are very encouraging.”
The corn fields are part of the national “1 Million Hectares Corn Planting Movement” and will serve as the center for the second phase of the simultaneous corn harvest, scheduled for May 31 to June 6, 2025, according to antaranews.com.
A key development is the launch of a corn processing plant by PT. Pangan Merah Putih Ras Borneo, which can process 300 tons of corn daily and store 5,000 tons. The facility aims to boost local farmers' welfare and strengthen food distribution.
The police have also formed a cooperative—Teguh Sejahtera—offering farmers capital in goods and services with a fair profit-sharing model.
