inp.polri.go.id - Ambon. The Head of Maluku Regional Police, Inspector General Eddy Sumitro Tambunan appealed to the people of Ambon City to beware with provocation attempts by irresponsible individuals that could cause division in the city.
Eddy explains that the invitation came after a clash at Trikora Ambon Monument which was said to be caused by racism issues. However, the fact is that the clash was not of racism issues, but juvenile delinquency under the influence of alcohol.
In a meeting with Maluku Regional Leadership Coordination Forum at Ambon Island Sub-regional City Police, which was attended by high officials and figures of the city, Eddy urges people to not fall into provocation.
“We appealed to the people of Maluku to maintain the security and conducive situation in the city following the clash at Trikora Ambon Monument,” said Eddy.
In answering to the current challenges following the conflict, Eddy will establish Security Posts which will be stationed by police and military personnel, also the representative of local figures.
“We from the police force will enforce the law against all who violate it and those involved in the clash of Trikora Ambon monument,” said Eddy.
Eddy also instructs members of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate and Public Relations Division to do intensive patrol in digital space.
