inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. Bengkulu Regional Police confiscated IDR 284.56 million in cash related to the fraud case involving 93 Hazairin University (Unihaz) students. The money was confiscated from suspect VL, who is the Director of the LBN Bengkulu travel service.

In this case, the students became victims of fraud due to the failure of the implementation of industrial work practice activities to Yogyakarta on February 17, 2025.

"The evidence that we have currently secured is IDR 284.56 million from the total money handed over by Unihaz Bengkulu students which reached IDR 531.42 million," explained Bengkulu Regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sudarno as quoted by Antara on Tuesday (3/4/2025).

He explained that he had examined a number of witnesses, such as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, students and others. In addition, police also sent personnel to examine witnesses in Jakarta who were suspected of being involved in the case.

"For the dean, we are still in the process of examining him and we will wait for further process. The remaining money has been used by the suspect to pay for bus, plane, lodging and other costs and the money is considered lost," he said.
