Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Mobile Brigade Search and Rescue (SAR) team rescued 130 flood victims, including infants, the elderly, and the sick, from Gang Setiawan, Cililitan, East Jakarta on Tuesday (4/3/2025).
"We evacuated 83 people using a Sakunar boat—22 infants, six elderly, and 55 others. Another 47 were rescued by rubber boat, including 10 infants, five elderly, two sick individuals, and 30 residents," said Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade SAR Team Commander Second Inspector Siswanto, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Floodwaters reached up to four meters, trapping residents in 13 affected neighborhoods. Officers manually paddled through submerged streets to reach victims.
Jakarta’s Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported 122 flooded neighborhoods and two impassable roads, with water levels reaching 420 cm in some areas. Rescue efforts continue as authorities coordinate further relief for affected residents.
