Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An officer of East Ciputat Police Office, First Brigadier Fadel Ramos, was injured in an acid attack while attempting to prevent a brawl in the Cireundeu area in South Tangerang on Thursday around 4 am.

Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi said on Friday (17/1/2025)  that the incident began when officers identified plans for a clash between two groups, SCBD Team and Pasundan, through social media monitoring. 

A team of four officers and one police partner, including Fadel, was dispatched to block the groups. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers encountered approximately 30 motorcyclists armed with sharp weapons. 

While dispersing the mob, officer Fadel and his partner Dion Saputra were attacked. Acid was thrown at them, and officer Fadel sustained injuries to both eyes and a bruised right arm from a sharp weapon. Dion also suffered eye injuries, according to antaranews.com.

The assailants stole the officers’ motorcycles during the attack. 

Police are investigating, gathering evidence, and reviewing CCTV footage. Both victims are receiving treatment at Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta.
