inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police thwarted a brutal clash in the Bonang street, Menteng, Central Jakarta, early Monday (6/9/2025).

"We will not tolerate any form of thuggery. This brawl is very dangerous for the safety of the people. We are taking firm action," explained the Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, on Monday (6/9/2025).

In the action, he said, five perpetrators were arrested along with evidence in the form of five machetes and two iron handles used to attack. The perpetrators are AR (21), RRS (19), MA (16), NAR (18), and RD (17).

Senior Superintendent William Alexander added that the perpetrators are currently being intensively questioned at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"We charged them with Article 2 Paragraph (1) of Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning the Possession of Sharp Weapons without a valid permit, with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years," said Kompol William.
