inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto urged the Indonesian National Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) to remain united and become institutions beloved by the people. The remarks came during a briefing to the leadership of both institutions at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (2/9/2026).
"As Commander-in-Chief of both the TNI and INP, the President has certainly provided guidance on how they must become strong, professional institutions. His message, above all, was to become a people's army and police that are loved by the people," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi emphasizing the message of President Prabowo on Monday (2/9/2026).
The State Secretary stated that on the occasion, President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to the TNI and INP for their roles during his more than one year of leadership.
Both institutions are said to be at the forefront in assisting and ensuring the success of various government programs oriented towards the interests of the people, nation, and state.
Prasetyo said that the Head of State, in his briefings at various forums, always emphasizes the importance of unity among all parties, including the TNI and Polri.
The State Secretary added that President Prabowo also provided an evaluation urging the two security institutions to continue improving their professionalism and prioritizing the interests of the community in carrying out their duties.
According to him, over the past year, the TNI and INP have carried out various tasks that, in practice, go beyond their respective primary functions. However, as the people's army and the people's police, the presence of the TNI and INP is considered to be very helpful to the community.
The State Secretary then touched on their role in disaster management, where they are at the forefront. Furthermore, both institutions are also involved in supporting government development programs, including bridge construction in remote areas, which aims to ease the burden on the community.
