He said his visit to Egypt was to attend the D8 Summit in Cairo. "I will attend the D8 Summit in Cairo, Egypt," said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo said that Egypt has a close relationship with Indonesia. According to him, Egypt is a strategic partner for Indonesia and an important country in the Middle East.

In addition to attending the D8 Summit, President Prabowo will also hold a bilateral meeting with President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi.

For information, D8 is a development cooperation organization between eight developing countries. D8 was formed in 1997, consisting of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Turkey and Pakistan.

President Prabowo said that the D8 Summit is an important event for Indonesia to attend. Moreover, in 2026, Indonesia will host the D8 Summit.

"Therefore, I am attending the summit and at the end of the summit, I will also hold informal meetings with several economic figures, industry figures, and also stop by Malaysia to meet with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim," said President Prabowo.
