inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto launched 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) in Bentangan Village, Wonosari, Klaten Regency, Central Java, on Monday (7/21/2025).

"This afternoon, Monday, July 21st, 2025, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, launched the institution of 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives," said President Prabowo in his inauguration speech.

In his remarks, President Prabowo stated that cooperatives are a tool for communities and nations facing economic hardship to build collective strength.

He likened cooperatives to a bundle of sticks, where a single stick is weak and insignificant, but when combined in large numbers, it can become a powerful and useful tool.

This concept is said to reflect the spirit of mutual cooperation within cooperatives. The President emphasized that cooperatives are a mechanism for consolidating the strength of various small economic elements to form a larger and more solid economic force.

"From a weak economy to a strong economic force. This is the concept of cooperatives. The concept of cooperatives is the concept of mutual cooperation," said President Prabowo.

He explained that the launch of 80,000 village and sub-district cooperatives is an effort to shorten the distribution chain and the flow of materials for the community.

These cooperatives are expected to help meet the needs of farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen.
