Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo revealed that President Prabowo Subianto aims to move his presidential office to the new capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), by 17 August 2028.
“The target is for the President to start operating from IKN by 17 August 2028. By 2029 at the latest, the executive, legislative, judicial branches, and their supporting staff should also relocate,” he said on Friday (6/12/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com
The government is prioritizing infrastructure development to ensure readiness for the relocation of these key government functions.
Although the primary focus remains on achieving food self-sufficiency, the IKN project continues to be a strategic priority. Coordinating Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono confirmed that the government is focusing on completing the administrative hub in East Kalimantan as directed by President Prabowo.
Financial constraints have emerged as a significant challenge, leading the government to actively seek domestic and foreign investments to fund various infrastructure projects, including those for IKN.
