Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have pledged continued support for Palestinian independence and committed to rebuilding Gaza, following Israeli military strikes. 

In a joint statement after their meeting in Ankara, Turkey on Friday (11/4/2025), both leaders emphasized cooperation on humanitarian and geopolitical issues, including Syria and Ukraine.

President Erdogan praised Indonesia’s stance and affirmed future collaboration through platforms such as the UN, OIC, and G20. President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s position, confirming shared values with Turkey on global peace and justice.

The commitment aligns with Indonesia’s plan to temporarily evacuate 1,000 wounded Palestinians from Gaza. 

Addressing concerns of forced relocation, President Prabowo clarified the initiative is purely humanitarian: “No, no, no—we are doing this to help.”

He said that the evacuation plan is under consultation with Middle Eastern leaders and Palestinian authorities, according to antaranews.com. 

President Prabowo’s visit to Turkey is part of a broader regional tour to rally support for Gaza, following President Erdogan’s February visit to Indonesia.
