inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, has required all Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that do not yet have adequate water quality to cook using bottled mineral water.
"We are now requiring them to use bottled water until they have water that is guaranteed to be of good quality," said BGN Vice Chairperson Nanik S. Deyang on Thursday (10/23/2025).
The Vice Chairperson of the BGN stated that this is a temporary precautionary measure, before all SPPGs are required to have water treatment facilities equipped with filters and ultraviolet (UV) light technology.
She cited a number of cases of poisoning caused by the Free Nutritional Meal MBG menu, some of which were triggered by the quality of the water used.
The Vice Chairperson of the BGN continued, one of which occurred in West Bandung Regency some time ago.
"It turns out that the lab results show that 72 percent of the cases, according to the Ministry of Health, are due to water issues. Why West Bandung? Perhaps it's because waste from Bandung is gathered there," said Nanik.
He also acknowledged that environmental sanitation issues around the SPPG are a major concern. Therefore, the Deputy Chairperson of BGN stated that this will be included in the Presidential Regulation on MBG Governance, which will be ratified in the future.
Through this step, the Vice Chairperson of BGN hopes that no more Indonesian children will fall victim to food poisoning while consuming food from the MBG Program.
