In his statement issued on Wednesday (11/12/2024), PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir thanked President Prabowo Subianto, the government as well as sponsors, media, and all stakeholders supporting the transformation of Indonesian football.
Out of the total budget, Rp 438 billion will be raised through sponsorships, media rights, ticket sales, merchandise, and other funding sources. The government has also committed Rp 227 billion for the cause.
While acknowledging that this budget may not match those of countries like Japan or Saudi Arabia, Erick emphasized the importance of using these funds efficiently. He highlighted the national team’s success in qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup across various age groups and set goals for FIFA rankings, according to antaranews.com.
The budget will primarily be used for preparations for the senior, U-23, U-20, and U-17 teams ahead of the 2025 AFC Asian Cup and 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
