Public Relations Officers Must Hone Skills and Competence: Papua Police Deputy Chief

Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Papua Regional Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani emphasized the growing importance of Public Relations in modern policing, urging officers to embrace technological advancements and cultivate essential competencies. 

“Public Relations demands specific expertise. Officers must combine knowledge with skill,” he said in his remarks during a Public Relations Division assembly at the Papua Police Headquarters on Wednesday (8/1/2025). 

The meeting was attended by Papua Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo,  key officials at the Papua Police Public Relations Unit such as Senior Inspector Nurjanah and Assistant Senior Inspector Zahiri, and the full Public Relations team.

Deputy Chief Faizal, who also serves as the Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2025, highlighted the significance of holding weekly gatherings to strengthen teamwork and enhance communication. He encouraged officers to address challenges directly with him to maintain a collaborative working environment.

He also stressed the need for strong writing abilities among Public Relations officers, advising them to refine their skills through consistent reading and practice.

“Success requires motivation and effort. With determination, it is achievable,” Deputy Chief Faizal added.

The assembly reinforced the division’s increasing role in modern policing, requiring police officers to enhance professionalism and adapt to evolving demands in public communication.
