Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Sub-regional Police arrested a man, identified for his initials MRS, for allegedly murdering a Singaporean in Batam. "The suspect was brought to the Barelang Police Station for questioning regarding the murder case," said Assistant Superintendent Budi Hartono, the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Sub-regional Police, over the weekend. The body of the victim, identified by his initials WKK, was found on Rempang Island happened on Friday night (29/9/2023) which led to the investigation of MRS who was arrested by the Tanjungpinang Police for embezzling mosque funds. Chief Budi said that the police investigated the case after the victim's son reported him as a missing person victim to a  local police station early in September. "The suspect may have killed the victim three weeks ago since the victim's body was only found as a skeleton," he said. (ar/fa/pr/nm)
