Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian government has dispatched  46 tons of humanitarian aid with a total value of Rp13.9 billion to provide relief to those affected by the devastating flooding caused by Mediterranean storm Daniel in Libya. "The Indonesian Government, in its capacity as a friendly nation to Libya, has dispatched vital supplies to alleviate the plight of the affected populace," Sorni Paskah Daeli, the Deputy Coordinator for Regional Development Equality and Disaster Management at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Empowerment and Culture, said on Monday morning (2/10/2023). The consignment of the humanitarian aid included  tents, clothing, carpentry tools, water distillation units, pre-cooked meals, and hygiene products. "The aid from the people of Indonesia to our Libyan counterparts is a testament to Indonesia's unwavering commitment to global humanitarian causes,." Sorni as quoted by antaranews.com as saying As of now, the humanitarian aid has undergone a single delivery, in line with the Cabinet's agreement.  The aid did not include medical personnel, as the priority was to address the pressing need for logistics. Recent reports from the International Organization for Migration have revealed the grim reality of the situation, with over 43,000 individuals being forced to evacuate their homes, and a heartbreaking loss of life numbering in the thousands due to the catastrophic flooding in eastern Libya. Indonesia's timely intervention seeks to provide much-needed relief to the victims of this natural disaster and underscores the nation's commitment to international humanitarian efforts in times of crisis.
