inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Member of the Committee of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Saleh Abdurrahman, reveals that the consumption of Pertalite and Pertamax is estimated to increase by five percent during the 2024 Christmas and New Year holidays.

"During the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period, consumption of Pertalite and Pertamax is projected to increase by five percent. Meanwhile, demand for diesel is estimated to decrease by 3.3 percent due to the decline in business activity during that time," he said, as reported by the RRI page, on Monday (12/23/2024).

According to him, the increase in fuel consumption was influenced by the increasing mobility of people during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

On the other hand, the decrease in demand for diesel was caused by restrictions on large goods vehicles and a decrease in business activities during the long holiday.

"We see this trend repeating every year. Therefore, this projection is based on previous experience," he explained.

To ensure energy availability, BPH Migas together with Pertamina have prepared more than 1,820 gas stations that operate 24 hours. In addition, 55 Pertamina kiosks on functional toll roads and 207 tanker trucks have also been prepared.

With BPH Migas' preparation, he hopes that the public can enjoy the Nataru holiday safely and comfortably.
