inp.polri.go.id - Ambon. Police implore the public to not bring or consume alcoholic beverages when visiting tourist destinations during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year.

“Visitors are urged not to sell, provide, to consume drugs and alcoholic beverages in any tourist destination places,” urged Maluku Regional Police Public Relations Head, Senior Superintendent Areis Aminnulla on Monday (12/23/2024).

During the patrol of 2024 Lilin Salawaku Operation, police have often found many people are consuming drugs and alcoholic beverages, causing commotions between visitors.

In light of this issue, police intensify preventive effort by giving appeals to the people.

“We invite the public to work together in maintaining a safe and security situation during holidays. Bringing or consuming beverages are not only disturbing the others, but also themselves,” says Areis.

As part of the security measures, police will continue to patrol various tourist attractions, such as beaches, recreation parks, and other locations that are among the top destinations for people during the holidays.

Police personnel are deployed to monitor visitor activities, including checking suspicious items.

"We will conduct stricter supervision at the entrances of several tourist attractions. If anyone is found to be carrying alcoholic beverages, they will be given a warning or action according to applicable regulations," he concluded.
