inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation stated that three airports were still unable to operate due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. The volcanic ash of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara is still spreading and limiting the movement of aircraft in the air.

"Until today, a number of airports and flights around the Mount Lewotobi eruption area are still limited. H Hasan Aroeboesman Ende Airport, and Frans Seda Maumere Airport are currently unable to operate," said the Head of the Ministry of Transportation's Communication and Public Information Bureau, Budi Rahardjo on Friday (11/15/2024).

However, Budi said, there were nine airports that were already operating after being temporarily closed due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi. Namely Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin Sumbawa Airport, Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Bima, Komodo Labuan Bajo, Soa Bajawa, Gewayantana Larantuka, Wunopito Lembata.

"Then there is Lede Kalumbang Tambolaka Airport, Waingapu Airport, and Tardamu Sabu Airport. Although several airports have resumed operations, several airlines are still canceling flight services for safety reasons," continued Budi.

Meanwhile, he said flight services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Lombok Airport have started to return to normal, after previously several flight services from several airlines experienced delays and cancellations.
