Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A tidal flood in the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) area temporarily disrupted commuter line (KRL) services between Tanjung Priok Station and Jakarta Kota Station on Saturday (12/14/2024.

“There was a temporary suspension of train operations on both tracks due to water flooding the railbed,” said Warmo, a railway crossing guard near JIS, North Jakarta.

The train services were halted for about two hours as the tracks were deemed unsafe for passage. IT affected the Tanjung Priok-Jakarta Kota and Priok-Kemayoran routes.

The water level reached 7–10 centimeters, covering the railbed, which posed a significant risk for trains to pass.  The situation has returned to normal as the water has receded, according to antaranews.com.

The tidal flooding has persisted for three days in the Jalan RE Martadinata area near JIS in Papango, Tanjung Priok. However, the floods on Friday and Saturday were notably higher.

Efforts to expedite drainage were carried out by local staff to ensure KRL services could resume safely.
