Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has confirmed over the weekend that a recent reassignment order affecting Lieutenant General Kunto Arief Wibowo and six other senior officials has been cancelled.
The reversal order, issued on 30 April 2025, came just days after the original reshuffle was issued by the TNI Commander.
“There are several officers who cannot be moved at this time, so the decision was made to revise and suspend the earlier rotation,” said TNI Head of Information Center Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi at a press conference, as quoted by antaranews.com..
The cancellations followed internal reviews by the military’s High-Ranking Officer Council, which considers future leadership needs and operational demands.
Chief Kristomei dismissed speculation that the move was politically motivated or linked to public statements made by former Vice President Try Sutrisno, General Kunto’s father.
General Kunto will remain Commander of Joint Regional Defense Command I, along with six others resuming their previous roles.
