Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) offered to assist Tempo media in identifying the perpetrators behind recent terror threats, according to TNI Head of Public Information Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi.

“Tempo can request assistance from TNI, for example, if the INP requires support in uncovering those behind this incident,” he said during a webinar on Tuesday (25/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com, referring to the Indonesian National Police.

The statement follows two terror incidents targeting Tempo’s office in Jakarta. On 19 March 2025, a package containing a pig’s head without ears was sent to the office, followed by a second package on 22 March 2025, containing six decapitated rats.

Despite offering assistance, Commander Kristomei emphasized that the police remain responsible for resolving the case.

“I hope that law enforcement authorities, especially the INP, can uncover the perpetrators so there is no ambiguity or mutual suspicion,” he said.

He also strongly condemned the threats, stressing that media freedom is crucial in a democratic nation like Indonesia.

The INP has confirmed that an active investigation into the terror threats against Tempo is ongoing.
