Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.The Indonesian National Police (INP) has uncovered the link of the 10 suspected terrorists arrested in Central Java to the Jamaah Islamiah (JI) network.
"These 10 individuals from the JI group are affiliated with the Qodimah East structure of JI," Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of the Public Information Bureau at the INP's Public Relations Division on Friday (26/1/2024).
The suspects, identified as S alias M, M alias R, T alias A, P alias K, N alias A, T alias J, E alias W, N, SU, and MU, played supportive roles in JI's operations.
Their involvement ranged from facilitating activities, harboring wanted individuals, to fundraising, providing logistics including firearms and sharp weapons, and personnel development.
"Currently, investigators are conducting interrogations, laboratory examinations on evidence, coordinating with the Prosecutor's Office and District Court, obtaining expert opinions on seized evidence, and detaining the suspects," the spokesperson added.
The arrests of the 10 suspects took place on Thursday following searches conducted by the Densus 88 Anti-Terror Squad.
