Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin, together with the Chairperson of the Papua Regional Bhayangkari, Mrs. Nova Patrige Renwarin, visited the Command Headquarters (Mako) of the Water and Air Police Unit of the Merauke Sub-regional Police on Monday (9/15/2025)
This visit was in the context of the release of 1,000 catfish seedlings as part of the food security program. The event took place with great enthusiasm, attended by Merauke Sub-regional Police personnel.
In his remarks, the Papua Regional Police Chief emphasized that the release of the catfish seeds was a concrete police commitment to supporting community welfare through the fisheries sector.
“We hope this activity can improve the local economy and inspire the community to take advantage of this opportunity and the potential of natural resources," said Petrus.
On the other hand, Nova also expressed her support for this program. She emphasized the importance of families in supporting positive activities such as fish farming to create food security at the household level.
The activity of catfish seedlings marked the start of the fish farming program in Merauke. This event also served as a means of fostering a relationship between the Papua Regional Police and the people of Merauke. Chief Petrus advised the community to continue to collaborate with the police to maintain security and support regional development.
