"We are executing this security alert to ensure Jakarta remains stable during Ramadan. This effort is not just for the police, but a partnership with the people of Indonesia," saod Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri on Saturday (14/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com
The deployment is uniquely inclusive, featuring participants from diverse community groups, including labor unions, student organizations, the Saka Bhayangkara scouts, and thousands of online motorcycle taxi drivers. These groups will act as the eyes and ears of the police in local neighborhoods.
Authorities are prioritizing the security of places of worship, economic hubs, and social centers.
Chief Asep urged residents to remain vigilant against misinformation and to prioritize dialogue and mediation to resolve local disputes, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the upcoming religious festivities.
