Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police(INP)  Criminal Investigation Department has detained a suspect, identified as CVT, for allegedly inserting false information into authentic marriage records. 

The case, handled by the Women and Children Protection and Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate (Dittipid PPA-PPO), centers on the suspect’s illegal modification of marital status from "married" to "single" within the national registry.

"Our investigators confirmed the suspect pressured a civil servant to manipulate the SIAK, potentially stripping legitimate children of their civil rights," said Brigadier General Nurul Azizah on Saturday (14/2/2026), referring to the Population Administration Information System, as cited by antaranews.com

The probe involved 13 witnesses from various Population and Civil Registry Offices (Dukcapil) and three experts in criminal law and digital forensics. 

Authorities executed the arrest following CVT’s persistent lack of cooperation and refusal to surrender key evidence. 

The suspect now faces charges under Article 394 of the Criminal Code carrying a maximum sentence of seven years in prison for compromising the integrity of state-issued identification documents.
