Inp.polri.go.id - Blora. Thirteen fire trucks have been deployed to contain a massive blaze at an illegal oil well in Gandu village, Bogorejo subdistrict, Blora Regency, Central Java, officials confirmed Friday (22/8/2025).
The vehicles, each with a 5,000-liter capacity, were mobilized by the Muria Raya Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) with support from neighboring districts including Rembang, Pati, Kudus, Grobogan, and Jepara.
“Coordination with PT Pertamina technicians is crucial to ensure water supply remains uninterrupted. Continuous flow is key to extinguishing the flames,” said Mulyowati, the Acting Head of BPBD Blora, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The fire, which broke out on 17 August 2025, has already killed three people and injured two others. Residents in surrounding areas remain evacuated while emergency teams continue suppression efforts.
PT Pertamina’s technical teams have prepared specialized equipment and water tankers to rotate supply runs. Authorities remain on high alert for potential new leaks, urging public cooperation to keep access roads clear for firefighting operations.
