Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that more than 147,000 homes were damaged by flash floods and landslides across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, as of Tuesday (16/12/2025).

“More than 147,000 houses suffered damage ranging from minor to severe, and this data guides temporary and permanent housing plans,” said BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The damage was recorded following disasters that struck Sumatra in recent weeks, affecting densely populated districts and coastal areas. Aceh accounted for the highest impact with over 106,000 damaged homes, followed by North Sumatra with nearly 29,000 and West Sumatra with more than 12,000. BNPB said the data was compiled through verified field assessments to ensure targeted recovery efforts.

The government is coordinating with local administrations to accelerate rehabilitation, relocation, and reconstruction, prioritizing disaster mitigation standards. BNPB also confirmed the death toll has reached 1,053, with hundreds still missing, while more than 606,000 residents remain displaced.
