inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Social Affairs Ministry gathers thousands of Tagana personnel from Jakarta and West Jakarta to prepare the effort in mitigating disaster risks.

“The 2024 Tagana Personnel Preparation Gathering held today shows the commitment of the ministry in mitigating the disaster risks,” says the Director General of Protection and Social Security of the Social Affairs Ministry, Agus Zainal Arifin on Friday (10/18/2024).

In his official statement, he conveys that the activity aims to maintain the spirit and readiness of Tagana.

Tagana is the front line unit in providing protection and evacuation for disaster-affected communities. Tagana are social volunteers or Social Welfare Workers who come from the community and who have the sympathy and concern that are active in disaster volunteer activities.

According to him, there were a total of 1,500 Tagana personnel from Jakarta and West Java who attended the roll call. Including 300 personnel from the Disaster Alert Village and 100 people from the Disaster Alert Banser.
